2022-03-02 17:23:50 Academic Integrity supports institutions in implementing a consistent and unified approach to integrity training. Made up of five staff-facing modules and five student-facing modules, the programme ensures that every member of the university community is on the same page when it comes to what constitutes best academic practice in their role – substantially reducing the risk of misconduct.

The student-facing modules provide a well-rounded guide to studying with integrity, emphasising the positive values, skills, and behaviour necessary throughout their studies and post-graduation.

The staff-facing modules demonstrate how to make use of academic integrity tools in a way that has a lasting impact – addressing key issues such as contract cheating, assessment, technology, and group work.

We will share thoughts about how people understand the word «Integrity».

The quality of being honest with yourself each day, each moment, and each instance. Specifically, it also means to have strict moral principles towards you as an identity. It shows to what extent good you are. Being a good person is not that easy.

As you have already mentioned, everyone is challenging an integrity every day whether they are in queue or exam. It is the core quality through which an individual builds strong personality which further affect relationship and interaction of his or her surrounding

2022-02-24 05:36:17 3 Reasons Why Honesty Is Important In A Friendship

Healthy and mature growth of friendship is based on Honesty.
We become friends to many when we start schooling. With the passage of time we meet different fellows, and among them, a few remain with us for a long time. In those few ones, we find those who remain honest to us and we trust in them. The relationship in school results in friendship and it grows on if honesty stays among them. A healthy friendship is always based on honesty and it grows if the friends remain true to each other.

Honesty is a secret of successful friendship
Why is honesty important in a friendship? We all believe that no relationship is successful without honesty. Self-respect and being trustworthy are the most important things in friendship. An honest friend stands with you at every stage of life. So, it is important, to be honest with friends in order to have an everlasting friendship with them.

Honesty is liberating element in Friendship
No one is perfect as we all make mistakes in our life. We usually make such mistakes upon which we regret. Honesty in friendship lets go any kind of unhealthy conditions and discourages the associations which have no healthier effect of well-being. Instead, honesty allows the beautiful and mature friendship to grow and loom.

2022-02-21 17:09:38 Recovering Better with Integrity

Corruption, bribery, theft, tax evasion, and other illicit financial flows cost developing countries $1.26 trillion per year. That is roughly the combined size of the economies of Switzerland, South Africa and Belgium, and enough money to lift 1.4 billion people who live on less than $1.25 a day above the poverty threshold and keep them there for at least six years.

Corruption has truly become a global challenge, with no country being immune to it. It negatively affects people, communities and entire nations. It also undermines democratic processes, reinforces injustice, and increases poverty. Furthermore, it weakens the essential public services, raises the cost of doing business and undercuts investment in development. In sum, corruption adversely affects all three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental.

In the times like COVID-19 pandemic that has affected all countries, the negative impact of corruption gets manifested and becomes obvious. COVID-19 has exposed vulnerabilities in health systems and public service delivery throughout the world as myriad cases of misuse of public funds, lax contracting processes and maladministration have come to light.

Kazakhstan has sustained its efforts to combat corruption and gradually shifts towards preventative measures. Ratification of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2008 is an important milestone in this process. Having joined GRECO in 2019, Kazakhstan once again confirmed its strong intention to promote integrity in public and private sectors and put more constraints on corruption. In 2019, Kazakhstan improved its ranking in the global Corruption Perception Index from 124 in 2018 to 113 out of 198 countries.

2022-02-16 18:10:40 How Cheating in College Hurts Students?

Students cheat on coursework in a variety of ways, from classic classroom moves like scribbling hidden notes somewhere to using technology such as smartwatches to seek out information.

Morgan says he's even seen cases where test-takers attempted to use drones or affix exam notes to their dogs – kind of a reversal of the old "the dog ate my homework" excuse.

But students who get caught cheating on a proctored exam automatically fail the test, Morgan says, which in turn affects their class grade. And if a failed exam causes a student to flunk a class, there may be other consequences beyond disciplinary sanctions.

"If you fail the class, and it's a required class, a student would have to retake it and pay for those credit hours again," Roberts says. "With finances being one of the major stressors of college students, they don't always have (the money) to be able to retake a class."

Considering that there are thousands of universities in the U.S., there are also thousands of policies governing academic integrity. Individual policies and the subsequent repercussions for those who get caught cheating can vary widely, meaning an individual professor may deal with the action as a class issue or a student may be hauled before a disciplinary committee.

2022-02-14 17:19:45 3 Tips to Break a Lying Habit

Ask yourself, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’

Remember the old adage, “honesty is the best policy”? There’s a reason it’s stuck around. Lying (or omitting the truth) really doesn’t help anyone, including yourself.

If you lie because you think the truth will upset someone or cause harm, ask yourself what the worst outcome would be if you decided to tell the truth. Chances are, it’s not as bad as you think.

Take it one day at a time

If you’re trying to be more honest, don’t attempt to flip a switch and stop lying entirely from that point forward. Sure, it might sound like a good plan, but it’s not realistic.

Instead, just commit to being more truthful each day. If you slip up or find yourself back in a lie, don’t get discouraged. You can make a different choice tomorrow.

Avoid trying to justify or validate dishonesty

“We lie because that’s what we were taught to do,” Egel says.

There’s a good chance when you were a kid, one of your parents said something like this: “Even if you don’t like your birthday present from Grandma, tell her it’s just what you wanted so you don’t hurt her feelings.”

Instead of justifying why a lie is necessary to protect someone’s feelings, put that energy toward finding a way to achieve that same goal by telling the truth.

2022-02-11 17:21:28 3 movies where the truth set people free

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

We're beginning our list with a James Stewart classic, one that preaches the value of honesty and truth without ever becoming too earnest or sentimental.

In the second of his three movies with director Frank Capra, Stewart plays an idealistic American senator who takes on the might of the establishment. But he doesn't do so with weaponry: rather, he uses words and good, old-fashioned decency to win the day. Given the politics is so often portrayed as venal and corrupt, the optimism of Capra and Stewart's vision is a breath of fresh air.

Pinocchio (1940)

Disney's classic animated fable is the heart-wrenching story of a wooden puppet who desires to become a real boy. Pinocchio's lies manifest in the form of an elongated nose, but in the end, the character's inherently truthful nature sees him rewarded.

After Pinocchio apparently dies during the climactic battle with the whale known as Monstro, the Blue Fairy gives him what his heart desires. She transforms him into a flesh and blood human, to the delight of his human 'father' Geppetto.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

This adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic book deviated from the novel so much, it left the author enraged. Nevertheless, these changes make it perfect for our Honesty Day list.

The essential set-up is the same: good-natured, poor kid Charlie (Peter Ostrum) wins a golden ticket to tour the chocolate factory of the mysterious Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder). Where the movie deviates, however, is in the subterfuge plot whereby Charlie is encouraged to steal trade secrets on behalf of one of Wonka's rivals.

This didn't happen in the book, and, as it turns out, it was all staged to test Charlie's truthful nature. Ultimately, he passes with flying colours, and inherits the factory from Wonka.

2022-02-09 17:02:26 Further Tips to Preserve Integrity

Learn how to be assertive , so that you can defend an ethical position from an adult point of view, without whining or being aggressive.

Avoid white lies. They may seem harmless, but tiny lies are still lies. Always tell the truth.

Learn to take responsibility for your actions. If you make a mistake, own up to it immediately and do whatever it takes to right the situation.

Keep your word, and don't make promises that you know you can't keep.

Keep in mind that in times of fear, disaster and chaos, the temptation is even greater to make a wrong choice. Use these opportunities to demonstrate your true character.

Avoid seeming self-satisfied or priggish when you're acting with integrity: stay humble and down-to-earth, don't look for approval, and, where you sensibly can, try to let people save face.
