The loneliest girl in the universe

I haven’t read such a gripping book with that absorbing plot for a while. I finished it in a day. The language of the book is so easy to understand despite its genre which is sci-fi that is considered to be full of scientific terms.

The story is told by an 18-year-old girl who is a lone commander of the most expensive and promising spacecraft called The Infinity. Romy was born and has spent all her life on it. She has never seen the Earth and never will because the Earth is on the brink of collapse. But she is willing to see Earth II - the only planet believed to meet all needs and requirements for future generations of mankind. Romy lost her parents a few years ago, all the other astronauts in “torpor” also died and she was left all alone. One day she got a message from her therapist from Earth about a new spaceship that was launched to help Romy with her mission... It changes her life completely. She won’t be alone anymore.

What I love most about this book is the way the author describes Romy’s feelings. I’ve highlighted some of them:

develop a raging headache
abruptly filled with complete and utter fear
with my heart in my throat
my head feels full of knives
got a nervous tickle in my stomach at the though of …
feel tied up in knots
my stomach fill un a combination of excitement and nerves
sends electric shivers from my fingers to the tip of my toes
stomach does flips
my heart purring in my chest

This book made me feel a surge of emotions, kept me gripped from the very first sentence and till the last one. Super awesome story with unexpected and mind-blowing twists that had me hanging on page by page.

Totally recommended!
Planning to reread it one day
